We are delighted to announce the arrival of Karen's latest fabric collection - "Devon County". It's been derived from the same 1820's quilt that "Elizabeth's Dowry" was drawn from - but it looks very different. "Devon County" is on display now in our online store.

Please Note: We will be away exhibiting at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, UK, from Saturday 5th August until Sunday 20th August inclusive. Online orders received during that time will be processed upon our return. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
At Somerset Patchwork & Quilting, our love of traditional fabrics and quilt designs has underpinned our commitment to this genre of patchwork since 2006. We specialise in carrying complete fabric collections reproduced from the fabrics of the 1800s, and particularly from around the American Civil War period. More recently, some of the fabric lines have been designed to reflect a softer English influence. We only carry quality fabrics from established fabric houses, which have been meticulously reproduced from original designs from the period.
Our patterns are "Somerset Designs" originals created by co-owner Karen Styles, or licensed reproductions of quilts in the collection of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles.
Karen's creativity and design ideas has led to her fulfilling a long-held dream of designing fabrics in the genre of the 1800's. Since 2014, Karen has been designing fabrics for Marcus Fabrics in New York - joining other reproduction designers such as Judie Rothermel, Paula Barnes, Pam Buda and Nancy Rink. And Karen's collections feature prominently in our online store, for your ease of reference.
We hope our new online shop will encourage you to browse through the website to see what's new and what's happening in the world of antique quilts. Our fabrics and patterns are all available from our website shop and of course, through our shop in Vermont in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
We strive to inspire, encourage creativity and develop skills with a focus on originality. And on that basis, we are always happy to help and assist with your quilting projects. So, we hope you enjoy looking through the pages of our website and will visit us often, and of course check out our Calendar to see where we're exhibiting and where Karen is teaching.
We look forward to seeing you soon, either online or at various shows and events around the country.
